Greetings! Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Dawn Youngers-Lamberti and I’m the new owner of Mary Claire’s Bistro & Bakeshop.
I purchased the former Mary Claire’s in November 2015 and renamed the business Mary Claire’s Bistro & Bakeshop. My vision was to turn the former bakery into an Italian-themed Bistro and Bakeshop that would offer homemade and hearty meals as well as Italian pastries made from recipes that have been passed down through the generations in my family.
When I was living down in Savannah, Ga., I worked at a local bed & breakfast and always dreamed about how wonderful it would be to own a B&B, or something like it. I love meeting new people and making them feel as if they are an extension of my own family. When I moved back up to Hamburg and saw that Mary Claire’s was for sale, I knew it was fate telling me to fulfill my dream. No, it’s not a bed and breakfast, but it’s a place of my own where I can share my love of food, cooking, and family with the people of Western New York.
After purchasing the bakery, I knew I wanted to put my own stamp on it. To truly make my own place. My first task was revamping the menu. We added breakfast, introduced a few new lunch items, and began using my family’s recipes to produce some of the most wonderful pastries around town.
And, we’re not done expanding! In November we’ll be hosting our first Italian Night, featuring homemade and handmade pasta and sauce for dinner. Stay tuned, details are coming!
My goal is for Mary Claire’s Bistro & Bakeshop be a home away from home for my customers; a place where they feel comfortable enough to pop in for lunch, or a coffee and meatball, and feel like they are welcome one of the family.
